FAQ - Internet Banking Code

 
1. What is the "Internet Banking Code"?

Maybank has introduced the "Internet Banking Code" (IBC) in Singapore as an added layer of security for sensitive online banking transactions. To safeguard all your information and transactions transmitted over the Internet, authentication of IBC is strongly encouraged for specified online transactions.

   
2. What are the transactions that should have IBC?
  The following transactions requires IBC (compulsory)
 
  • 3rd party Maybank Funds Transfer
  • Cross Border Funds Transfer
  • Online Remittance
  • Update Payee List (Other Bank Account)
  • Update Payee List (3rd Party Maybank Account)
  • Update Payee List (Cross Border Funds Transfer)
We also strongly recommend implementing the IBC security feature for the following transactions:
 
  • Funds Transfer to Debit Card Payee
  • 3rd Party Maybank Credit Card Payment
  • Change Password
  • Update Payee List (Credit Card Payment)
  • Update Payee List (Funds Transfer to Debit Card Payee)
  • Update of Customer Particulars
3. Can I customise my own list of transactions that has IBC?
  Should you wish to add or remove this added layer of security for part or all of the online banking transactions, you may choose to introduce or disable the IBC security feature/function (please choose to use either feature or function) from your "Personal Profile" at any time. Note that you will not allowed to disable those transactions that requires IBC (compulsory)
   
4. What do I need to obtain my IBC?
  To obtain your IBC, you will need access to Maybank Dial-Link (PhoneBanking).

If you do not have access, please apply for Dial-Link. Kindly note that it may take up to 1 week for your Dial-Link Access ID and PIN to be mailed to you. Alternatively, you can apply at any of our 22 Branches in Singapore.
   
5. How do I obtain my IBC?
 
  • Call Dial-Link (PhoneBanking) at 1800-484 2088
  • Select the language medium
  • Press "1" for English, followed by the "#" key (Kindly note that instructions on how to obtain IBC is only available in English)
  • Press "3"for Internet Banking Code, followed by the "#" key
  • Key in your 8-digit Dial-Link Access ID, followed by the "#" key
  • Enter your 4-digit PIN, followed by the "#" key
  • Take note of the 6-digit IBC that will be read out to you
  • Press "1" to have the IBC read out to you again
  • To end the call, either press "00" or hang up the phone
6. How long will my IBC be valid for?
  'The IBC will be valid for 24 hours from the time it was requested, so you may choose to obtain your IBC first before proceeding to make your online banking transaction.
   
7. What happens if I forget my IBC?
  Should you forget your IBC at any point within the 24-hour period, simply request for a new IBC to be issued to you.
   
8. I have entered my IBC but why is my transaction not proceeding?
 
  • IBC Expired - Call in again to Dial-Link and request for a new IBC
  • IBC Invalid - Call in again to Dial-Link and request for a new IBC
  • IBC Locked Out - User Name has been locked. Use Dial-Link (Phone Banking) to request for a new IBC
  • No Access to Dial-Link (Phone Banking) - You will have to sign up for Dial-Link (Phone Banking) services first
